San Antonio, TX, a rapidly growing city of nearly two million people is the seventh-most populous city in the nation with new neighborhoods popping up literally every week. San Antonio is a city of diversity. Generations of Latinos have lived in the city since before Texas was part of either Spain, Mexico, or the United States. While there are sobering aspects of the city’s history there are also wonderful examples of cross-cultural community and cooperation. Destino believes in reaching and equipping Latinos to reach the world contextually- not in place of other cultures, but as an integral addition.

Destino is a movement captivated by the idea that God’s plan for the world includes Latino college students and their families. While embracing modern culture’s norms and values, students hold fast to their ancestral roots and in turn navigate between two cultural identities. This results in Latinos who are uniquely gifted with the ability to work effortlessly with other cultures. Imagine how effective these students and families would be if they were actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission.
